Today I am amplifying the voice of Rebeca Gyumi, @globalfundforwomen supported-activist, who tackles the challenges that prevent young girls from attending school in Tanzania. Her One Girl One Bike project supports young girls who walk long distances to school (up to 2-3 hours) arriving late and exhausted, affecting their ability to learn. The situation also puts girls at a high risk of sexual harassment, pregnancies and early marriages. By providing bicycles to girls, the students attendance and performance improved.
