I m in Kansas City for the funeral of Ruth Teitze Brown, who died last week at the age of 109. She was born the same year as Ford s Model T, when Teddy Roosevelt was president and women did not have the right to vote. She lived through two world wars and her grandpa was a Union general in the Civil War. (She was also @nickbrown's grandmother.) When she died peacefully, naturally, and in her sleep, she was the oldest person in both Kansas and Missouri. God bless whomever that title belongs to now. Also, God bless all the little girls that are born this year and in 109 years will recall the world we've left them. All this looking back has got me thinking about looking forward: Here's hoping the choices we are making today will be something we can be proud of tomorrow.
